Roast Pi is an online software service offered through monthly or annual subscriptions.
Key Information
Before use of a paid service begins after payment, you may request withdrawal from the purchase and a refund under applicable law. Once paid features have already been used, withdrawal or a refund may be restricted based on service-use records and applicable law.
If Roast Pi fails to provide normal service for reasons attributable to it, such as a service failure, duplicate charge, or payment error, it will verify the issue and provide a full refund or a refund for the affected period.
You may cancel a subscription at any time and continue using the Service through the end of the already paid period. Subscription cancellation stops recurring payment beginning with the next charge; it does not automatically refund an amount already paid.
To request a refund, send Customer Support the payment account and reason for the request. The operator will review service-use and payment information and process the request under applicable law and this Policy.
If applicable law provides withdrawal or refund standards that are more favorable to the consumer, those legal standards apply.
Article 1. Scope
This Policy applies to paid services purchased through the Roast Pi website or a payment method provided by the Company.
For payments made through an app marketplace, partner seller, or outside platform, that seller’s refund procedure may apply first.
Article 2. Paid Service Availability and Usage Records
- Roast Pi Pro becomes available when payment is successfully approved and paid access is activated on the User’s account.
- In this Policy, a paid-feature usage record means a record that the User actually ran a Pro-only feature and its processing completed successfully.
- Paid-feature usage records may include:
- running or saving with a Pro-only roasting feature;
- data storage, upload, or synchronization directly initiated by the User;
- generation or export of a Pro-only report;
- deduction of paid usage, credits, or quota; and
- another Pro-only feature explicitly initiated by the User.
- Logging in, viewing a dashboard or informational screen, a failed or canceled request, or background processing that runs without an explicit User action is not by itself treated as use of a paid feature.
Article 3. Withdrawal from a Purchase
- A User may request withdrawal within the period provided by applicable law.
- If the request is made within seven days after payment or the date the Service became available and there is no substantive paid-feature usage record, the full payment amount is refunded.
- If delivery of the digital service has begun or the User has actually used a paid feature, withdrawal may be restricted under applicable law.
- For a divisible service, rights under applicable law apply to the portion not yet provided.
- If the Service differs from its displayed, advertised, or contractual description, the User may request withdrawal or termination within the period and procedure provided by applicable law.
- No separate penalty or damages charge is imposed for a statutory withdrawal.
- This Policy does not limit rights guaranteed to Users by law.
Article 4. Canceling Recurring Payment
- A User may cancel recurring payment at any time through Billing Management currently provided by the Company or by contacting Customer Support.
- Cancellation of recurring payment applies beginning with the next charge.
- If only recurring payment is canceled, the User may continue using Pro through the end of the already paid period.
- A request to cancel only recurring payment does not create a refund for the current paid period.
- After the service period ends, the account moves to the Free plan.
Article 5. Refund Requests and Early-Termination Refunds
- Subscription cancellation is the process for stopping the next recurring charge. A refund is a separate request to return an amount already paid. Subscription cancellation alone does not automatically refund an amount already paid.
- To request a refund, send Customer Support the payment account and reason for the request. The operator will process it after reviewing payment and Service-use records.
- If a refund is approved, the Company also reviews and processes whether the Pro entitlement based on that payment ends and whether the next recurring payment is stopped.
- An early-termination refund for a monthly subscription is calculated by subtracting from the amount actually paid the amount corresponding to the service period provided through the termination-request date.
- A partial month is prorated using the actual number of days in that paid period.
- If the amount corresponding to the used period is at least the amount actually paid, the refund is KRW 0 and no additional amount is charged to the User.
- No separate penalty equal to 10% of the remaining amount is added for an ordinary early termination.
Article 6. Refund Calculation
Monthly subscription The refund is calculated as follows.
Refund = amount actually paid − amount corresponding to the used period
The amount corresponding to the used period is calculated as follows.
Amount corresponding to the used period
= amount actually paid × days used ÷ total days in the paid period
- If a discount, coupon, or promotion applied, the amount actually paid is the maximum total amount available for refund.
- If the calculated used-period charge exceeds the amount actually paid, the refund is KRW 0 and no additional amount is charged.
- Fractions below KRW 1 arising in the refund calculation are handled so they do not disadvantage the User.
- An amount already refunded or canceled is not refunded again.
Article 7. Full Refunds
After verification, a full refund may be issued in any of the following cases:
- the request is within seven days after payment and there is no substantive paid-feature usage record;
- the same product was charged more than once;
- an error by the Company or payment system caused an incorrect charge;
- the paid service was not provided; or
- another full-refund ground provided by law or separately established by the Company applies.
When a full refund is completed, the Pro entitlement granted by that payment ends.
Article 8. Service Failures and Reasons Attributable to the Company
- If the Company fails to provide the paid service normally for a reason attributable to it, the Company may extend service by the outage period, refund that period, or provide compensation under applicable law.
- If a prolonged or material failure makes it difficult to achieve the purpose of the agreement, the User may request termination and a refund for the remaining service period.
- Natural disaster, telecommunications failure, or a problem with the User’s device or network that is difficult for the Company to control reasonably is assessed in light of applicable law and the specific circumstances.
Article 9. Amounts That May Be Deducted from a Refund
The following amounts may be deducted from a refund under applicable law and this Policy:
- the amount corresponding to a service period already provided;
- the amount corresponding to a paid feature or paid usage already consumed;
- an amount for which a refund or payment cancellation has already been completed;
- the amount corresponding to a discount or credit fraudulently obtained or used by the User; and
- to the extent permitted by law, an amount of actual loss suffered by the Company because of the User’s intentional act or gross negligence.
The Company does not categorically restrict a User’s withdrawal or refund rights contrary to applicable law.
Article 10. Refund Method and Processing Time
- As a rule, a refund is issued to the payment method originally used.
- When the Company receives a withdrawal or termination request, it verifies the refund ground and amount under applicable law and takes the steps required for repayment or payment cancellation.
- When repayment is legally required, as a rule the Company takes the steps required for repayment or payment cancellation within three business days after receiving the withdrawal or termination request.
- If the minimum information needed to identify the requester or payment is missing, the Company asks the User for the additional information without delay.
- After the Company completes the cancellation or repayment step, the actual timing of a card-authorization reversal or account entry may vary with the card issuer’s, bank’s, or payment provider’s processing schedule.
- If a refund to the original payment method is difficult, the Company may use another refund method after consulting with the User.
Article 11. How to Request a Refund
Refunds are not automatic. The User must send the payment account and reason for the request through a Customer Support method below. After verification, the operator processes the request under applicable law and this Policy.
After receiving the request, the Company verifies the payment account, payment history, and whether the Service was used, then informs the User of the result.
A refund request may require the account email address, payment date, payment amount, order number, and reason for the request.
Do not send a full card number, password, or payment-authentication information to Customer Support.
Article 12. Changes to This Policy
The Company may amend this Policy to reflect changes in applicable law, the payment structure, or the Service.
If a change is unfavorable to Users, the Company gives advance notice of the effective date and changes. As a rule, a payment completed before the change is governed by the policy in effect at payment.
Matters not addressed in this Policy are governed by the Roast Pi Terms of Service and the laws of the Republic of Korea.
