Terms of Service

Article 1. Definitions

1. “Company” means 커피익스플로러.
2. “Service” means the roasting-record, cloud storage and synchronization, analytics, and related paid and free features that the Company provides through the web and desktop application.
3. “User” means a member who enters into a service agreement and uses the Service.
4. “User Data” means roasting records, green-bean and equipment inputs, and account-linked files that a User enters or stores in the Service. Processing standards for User Data that constitutes personal information are governed by the Privacy Policy.

Article 2. Posting the Terms and Forming the Agreement

1. The Company posts these Terms within the Service.
2. The service agreement is formed when a User agrees to these Terms and completes registration. Agreement to the Terms and publication of the Privacy Policy are separate procedures. Publication of the Policy alone is not treated as consent to every type of processing.
3. Use of data to train a shared AI model is governed by the AI Data Use Notice and a separate optional consent. Agreement to these Terms is not treated as that optional consent.

Article 3. Service Features

1. The Company enables Users to create and retain roasting records through the web and desktop application and provides cloud storage and synchronization.
2. Features, service periods, prices, and monthly usage limits for free and paid plans are shown on Plans and Pricing. Payments and recurring payments are managed through Billing Management.
3. The Company currently offers Free, Lite, Pro, and Max plans. Paid plans may be billed monthly or annually.
4. The Company does not sell separate credit or usage products outside subscriptions.

Article 4. Accounts

1. Users must provide accurate, current account information at registration and update it when it changes.
2. Users are responsible for managing passwords used for email registration and other login methods. Users bear loss caused by their failure to manage them properly.
3. If an account or data is damaged by the Company’s intentional act or security negligence, the Company does not shift that responsibility to the User.
4. When a User signs up through a social account, the Company does not receive the password for that social service. A User whose account is linked only to a social account must request account deletion through Customer Support.

Article 5. User Data

1. Rights in data entered or stored in the Service remain with the User or other lawful rights holder. The Company does not acquire those rights merely through these Terms.
2. The Company processes User Data only as needed for recording, storage, backup, synchronization, and analytics requested by the User.
3. Use of data to train and validate a shared AI model offered to multiple Users and to develop analytics features is limited to the records, purposes, period, and scope stated in a separate optional consent.
4. The Company does not disclose or sell a User’s original profiles to other Users.
5. A User may withdraw AI data-use consent in Settings. Withdrawal stops new use of training copies but does not itself delete the User’s original service records.
6. The Company does not make already contracted features or prices less favorable solely because optional consent is declined or withdrawn. Before expanding fields or purposes, it provides notice and obtains any required consent.
7. Roasting records that are not personal information are also retained as service records while the account remains active. Ending a subscription or downgrading a plan alone does not delete them. Retention and destruction of personal information are governed by the Privacy Policy.

Article 6. Restrictions and Account Deletion

1. The Company may restrict use or terminate the agreement if it confirms a legal violation, a material breach of these Terms, infringement against another User or the Service, or payment fraud.
2. Before a restriction or termination, the Company states the reason and duration. If immediate action is needed to prevent urgent harm, the Company gives notice without delay after taking action and explains how to object.
3. A User may object through Customer Support. The Company reviews the reason after receiving the objection and provides the result.
4. A User registered by email may delete the account through Settings after password verification. A User who uses only a social account must request deletion through Customer Support.

Article 7. Subscription End, Downgrade, and Account Deletion

1. If only recurring payment is stopped, the User may use the plan through the paid service period and is moved to the Free plan when that period ends. Amounts already paid are not automatically refunded.
2. The time at which access ends following early termination and a refund or statutory withdrawal is governed by the Refund and Subscription Cancellation Policy.
3. Previously stored roasting records are not deleted when a plan is downgraded or a paid period ends. Later use follows the features and limits of the changed plan.
4. A User may download individual roasting records while they remain accessible. The Privacy Policy governs the scope of personal-information destruction when membership ends.

Article 8. Changes to or Discontinuation of the Service

1. The Company may change all or part of the Service when operationally or technically necessary. Changes that are material or unfavorable to Users follow the advance-notice requirements in Article 10.
2. If the Company discontinues the Service, it gives 30 days’ notice of the termination date, method for exporting data, and handling of remaining paid periods, and sends notice to the email address registered in the member information.
3. If the Company cannot provide a paid service through the remaining period for reasons attributable to the Company, it gives Users an opportunity to export data and refunds the remaining paid period under the Company-attributable standards in the Refund and Subscription Cancellation Policy.

Article 9. Predictions, Analytics, and Damages

1. Predictions and analytics from the Service are reference information intended to assist roasting decisions. They do not guarantee bean flavor, yield, equipment safety, or business performance.
2. The Company compensates a User for loss caused by the Company’s intentional act or gross negligence. These Terms do not exclude liability for intentional acts or gross negligence.
3. For loss caused by ordinary negligence, the Company does not, without substantial reason, predetermine a reduction in compensation or categorically disclaim indirect loss. The specific scope of compensation is determined by applicable law and the agreement.

Article 10. Changes to These Terms

1. The Company may amend these Terms to the extent that the amendment does not violate applicable law.
2. The Company’s operating standard is to post the changes and effective date on the website seven days before an ordinary change and 30 days before a material or unfavorable change. Individual notice by member email is also provided for a material or unfavorable change.
3. These periods are the Company’s operating standards. They do not mean that the law requires the same period for every change. If the law sets a different period or procedure, that law applies.
4. When a change requires renewed consent, the Company does not renew an agreement or enter into a new paid agreement on the new terms before the User agrees to the new version.
5. If the User declines renewed consent, an already paid period remains governed by the prior Terms, and renewals and new paid agreements after the change takes effect do not proceed.
6. A paid period completed before publication is governed by the Terms in effect at payment.

Article 11. Inquiries and Disputes

1. Questions about these Terms may be submitted through Customer Support, by phone at 070-8628-9532, or by customer-support email.
2. The Company and User will endeavor to resolve disputes through consultation.
3. The laws of the Republic of Korea apply to these Terms and the service agreement. A lawsuit must be filed in a court with jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act and other applicable law.
